WELCOME TO THE ZONTA CLUB OF
SANIBEL/CAPTIVA ISLAND, FLORIDA
Zonta International (ZI, founded in 1919) is a global service organization of executives
and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through
service and advocacy. ZI supports projects that improve women's legal rights, health,
education, economic status; end violence against women, and enhance women's self esteem. Nearly 31,000 members belong to more than 1,200 clubs in 65 countries.
Locally, Zonta of Sanibel/Captiva, established in 1987, is an active and award-winning
club providing hands-on assistance, advocacy, and funding to strengthen women's lives
on the islands, in Lee County, and around the world through Zonta International. The
70-plus members who live and work on the islands stand behind a commitment that,
as successful women, we have opportunities and resources that should be used to
enhance our community.
Our club has been awarded the prestigious "Governor's Cup" in recognition of a club
that has "exemplified ideals and objectives of Zonta International" 5 of the last 6 years,
also winning as runner up the 6th year.
Professionals and community leaders who live and/or work on the islands and support
the mission of Zonta are eligible for membership. The Club has breakfast meetings on
the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. If you are interested in learning more about
membership, contact us at info@zontasancap.com.
