Empowering Women
through Service, Advocacy & Fundraising

The Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva has been making a difference in women’s lives for more than 30 years. We are proud that our service and advocacy efforts help women locally, regionally, and around the world.

To date, our foundation has contributed more than $1.1 million in grant awards to local organizations that help women, and are the top club donor to our international organization, Zonta International, a leading global organization that seeks to empower women around the world.

Meet Zonta San-Cap

Knowledge, talent and life experiences – all available in abundance on Sanibel and Captiva. The women of Zonta bring the very best of these: from all walks of life, we collaborate, we work together, and we have fun, in equal measure. As one of the most successful among Zonta International’s 1,200 clubs worldwide, we put the “fun” in fundraising.

What We Do

Service

Zonta San-Cap is proud to partner with numerous local organizations that mirror our mission of empowering women and improving their lives. Our members work diligently in support of these organizations with programs and assistance throughout the year.

There are four key areas of focus for selecting our service partner organizations.

  • Reduce violence against women
  • Promote women’s physical and mental health and well-being
  • Enhance educational growth and economic self-sufficiency
  • Build women leaders for our community

Advocacy

Our voices are powerful when we make them heard! Zonta San-Cap has several important advocacy projects, and is always encouraging members and others to support issues that support our mission of empowering women.

One of our most important advocacy projects is Zonta Says No, a global campaign designed by Zonta International to end violence against women.

Fundraising

Our signature fundraiser – “Peek at the Unique” Tour of Homes – is held each spring and is a fun way to support a great cause, with 100% of the profits distributed to organizations that work to improve the status of women.

Who We Support $$

Every January, from funds raised the previous year, Zonta gives grants to area non-profits whose mission mirrors Zonta’s own.  In 2020, after a rigorous selection process, the foundation awarded a total of  $104,700 to these 17 organizations, and pledged $34,900 to Zonta International. Here are just a few of the organizations we have supported in past years.
