Mission:
Zonta’s partner since 2000, Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS), is the leader in substance abuse treatment in Southwest Florida.
Zonta works with the women in the Transitional Learning Center, SWFAS’ halfway house. We provide hands-on assistance with activities to support a healthier life in a world free of addiction,
including fellowship, work skills, and building self-esteem.
Zonta Partnership:
Zonta partnership grants have helped fund a computer center named the Zonta Learning Center, and a scholarship-style program that provides rent, tuition, and childcare assistance so selected
women can concentrate on learning new skills that will afford them independence.
We are part of a community coalition advocating for adequate community mental health and addiction services. Zontians joined
in at the February 2008 groundbreaking for the new SWFAS-operated detoxification center.
