Human Trafficking Resolution

Whereas:

Zonta International has adopted the eradication of violence against women of all generations as its primary service focus locally and internationally and has adopted the STAR Network Bosnia and Herzegovina Anti-Trafficking Community Mobilization Project as one of its International Programs;

Whereas:

The Geographical area of District 11 of Zonta International is a destination market for the trafficking of women in sex trades, women as slave workers in farm and service industries as well as other forms of human slavery;

And Whereas;

Members of Zonta have dedicated themselves to international and local aimed at eliminating practices, which endanger women;

BE IT RESOLVED therefore that:
1. District 11 members may educate themselves about human trafficking in their local areas and beyond.
2. District 11 members may draw upon their diverse expertise and resources to develop strategies and seek partners to educate the public about human trafficking within its borders and beyond.
3. The District 11 Board will aid local clubs and areas to combine their efforts and encourage communication and cooperation among clubs to make their individual efforts more effective.
4. District 11 will encourage efforts to provide social, emotional, physical health, financial status and security for the empowerment of women victims of trafficking within our District.

REFERRED TO INTERNATIONAL ZISVAW COMMITTEE FOR FURTHER ACTION.
